This Friday a wonderful Charlottesville, VA-based artist that I have bumped into a couple times is having an opening here in Brooklyn at Cinders Gallery. Allyson Mellberg makes art that is environmentally conscious, both in its imagery and use of non-toxic, natural materials. At the same time she injects loads of magical and whimsical energy into her work. Take a look at some images from the exhibit here and then, if you’re near Brooklyn, drop by Cinders at 103 Havemayer (between Hope and Grand) for the opening on October 10, 7-10pm.
