Avant-garde Beatles

This is pretty exciting: “Mythical Beatles Track Does Exist” [BBC]

And Paul McCartney wants to release it.

The 14-minute tune, inspired by composers like John Cage and Karlheinz Stockhausen (who appears on the cover of Sgt. Peppers), is called “Carnival of Light” and McCartney has the master tape. It includes “distorted guitar, organ sounds, gargling and band members shouting phrases such as ‘Barcelona!’ and ‘Are you all right?'”

How about making this the first digitally released Beatles track? And maybe they could incorporate it into the upcoming Beatles video game?

Read more about the track on Wikipedia.
