In Virginia there is a city called Roanoke. In that city there is a group that calls itself The Magic Twig Community. In the Magic Twig Community there are some wonderful bands. The Young Sinclairs sound similar to The Clientele. That is, they make luscious ’60s pop. The Sad Cobras also spit luscious pop, but theirs is more of the ’90s/’00s variety, sometimes reminding me of Beulah. Boys Lie do ’80s synth pop. The Missionaries are folkish. A few other bands take on a similar styles. Thus, it seems, Magic Twig has a little bit of everything.
After the break, a video of The Sad Cobras performing “Gisella” live.
