Dear Internet Surfer,

My soundtrack for the day was the High Llamas’ Hawaii. It made my L Train ride feel less like a jolting necessity and more like a swaying sojourn into the liveliness of Manhattan. If you like Brian Wilson’s SMiLE or the solo work of Van Dyke Parks, I think there’s a good chance Hawaii will also suit your fancy. These increasingly hot days call for tunes that will give the oppressive waves of heat a lighter side. The High Llamas hold such powers. I hope you will seek them out.
